1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Juztuz ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Juztuz. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Account Registration

2.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Juztuz. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

2.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your phone number and verification codes
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Keeping your encryption keys secure (stored on your device)

2.3 Account Information

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account. You may update your username, display name, and avatar at any time through the app.

3. Subscription & Payment

3.1 Subscription Fee

Juztuz is a subscription-based service. The current subscription fee is $1.99 per month. This fee is subject to change with 30 days' notice.

3.2 Billing

• Subscriptions are billed monthly on a recurring basis
• Payments are processed through Stripe
• You authorize us to charge your payment method on each billing cycle
• Failed payments may result in service suspension

3.3 Cancellation & Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the app. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial months of service.

3.4 Free Trial

We may offer free trial periods at our discretion. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged for a subscription.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

4.1 Prohibited Content

You may not use Juztuz to send, share, or distribute:

• Illegal content or content that promotes illegal activities
• Content that infringes on intellectual property rights
• Spam, phishing attempts, or malicious links
• Harassment, threats, or hate speech
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
• Non-consensual intimate images
• Misinformation that could cause imminent harm
• Malware, viruses, or other harmful code

4.2 Prohibited Activities

You may not:

• Attempt to circumvent our security measures
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Use automated tools (bots) without authorization
• Impersonate others or create fake accounts
• Interfere with the Service's operation or performance
• Scrape or harvest user data
• Sell or transfer your account

4.3 Enforcement

Violation of these policies may result in:

• Warning notices
• Temporary or permanent account suspension
• Termination of your subscription without refund (except where required by applicable law)
• Reporting to law enforcement if required

Note: Because messages are end-to-end encrypted, we cannot proactively monitor message content. We rely on user reports and limited account and usage signals to detect abuse.

5. Privacy & Encryption

5.1 End-to-End Encryption

All messages are end-to-end encrypted. Your encryption keys are stored only on your devices. We cannot read or decrypt your messages. We may update our encryption methods over time to maintain security.

5.2 Data Retention

• DM Messages: Automatically deleted based on your expiry preference (24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or 1 year). When chatting, the stricter preference applies.
• Room Messages: Automatically deleted 24 hours after the room is created
• Metadata: Retained for 30 days, then automatically deleted (may be retained longer if required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution)
• Account data: Retained until you delete your account

5.3 Key Recovery

Your encryption keys are stored only on your devices. If you lose access to all your devices, you will lose access to your message history. We cannot recover your keys or decrypt your messages for you.

6. Screenshot Protection

Juztuz implements screenshot protection where supported by the operating system:

• We block screenshots where the operating system allows
• If a screenshot is detected or attempted, the other person is notified

Important: Screenshot protection depends on operating system capabilities and is not guaranteed. Users may still capture content through external devices, screen recording, or modified software. Exercise caution when sharing sensitive information.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Juztuz Property

The Service, including its design, code, trademarks, and content, is owned by Juztuz and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

7.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you send through Juztuz. However, you grant us a limited license to:

• Store and transmit your encrypted messages
• Display your profile information to other users
• Process your content as necessary to provide the Service

This license ends when your content is deleted (automatically based on your expiry settings, or when you delete your account).

8. Disclaimers & Limitations

8.1 Service Availability

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." We do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted access to the Service
• Error-free operation
• That the Service will meet your specific requirements
• That encryption will prevent all unauthorized access

8.2 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Juztuz and its affiliates shall not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of data or profits
• Service interruptions or security breaches
• Actions of other users
• Content shared through the Service

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8.3 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Juztuz from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

9. Termination

9.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time by:

• Canceling your subscription in the app
• Contacting support at contact@juztuz.com

9.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy
• Your payment method fails or is declined
• We are required to do so by law
• We discontinue the Service (with 30 days' notice)

9.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your access to the Service ends immediately. Your messages will be deleted according to our retention policy. Account data and metadata will be deleted within 30 days.

10. Dispute Resolution

10.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing a claim, please contact us at contact@juztuz.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

10.2 Formal Resolution

Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved through the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. General Provisions

11.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws.

11.2 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Juztuz regarding the Service.

11.3 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full effect.

11.4 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or our right to enforce it in the future.

11.5 Assignment

You may not transfer or assign these Terms or your account. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through:

• In-app notifications
• Email to your registered email address
• Notice on our website

Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.
